But wait! There’s more!!
Yes, it’s finally happened.
Cara is with child. Preggo. Bun in the oven. Seed in the field. A frog in the making. (Double entendre in that one. Ha!)
I know it’s hard to believe that I would be allowed to breed, but despite the world’s best interests, it happened. I’m pretty sure the Powers-That-Be took Cara into consideration and figured that there’s no point punishing her just to get me. Although who knows.. we could wind up with quadruplets. Gack!
So if you’re lucky enough to see Cara while she’s "home" for 2 weeks in Vancouver, be sure to pat her tummy (gently!) and say something pithy like, "So I hear breeding season is all year long in Corsica." She’ll appreciate the sentiment. Trust me.
BTW – for those of you who care about the details.. we are expecting the delivery to occur some time around early October.

The world is truley a scary place. Some people were worried about me becomming a father, I am terrified of Henri breeding and populating the earth.
So will the little one be Canadian/American/French…..Do they allow 3 way citizenship?

It actually has been done before, I don’t know the details, or whether they followed through with it.
But you could call your kid “gimmeabuck” or something catchy like that. Just think of the press coverage you could get!

As the first lady commenting I’ll let you know now that i’m sure Cara has had names in mind for her child/children since the day you were married! So forget the ebay thing my brilliant husband thought of now, I dought it would fly!

I’m not so sure. If someone want’s to pay a million bucks to name our kid… then why not? That’s a lot of cash. And of course we’d reserve the right to void the sale if the name was “too” wacky, etc…
Hmmmm… capitalism at its best, I think.
So I wonder what this Canamfre baby will look like. Do your mothers know? I personally can’t believe they let you two alone this long . . . . and now look at the trouble you have created. HOW SWEET!!!! I suspect you won’t have to get a nanny for a few months, while a progression of lookie-loos show up, after October, to see what a true Canamfre baby looks like.
Personally, I have every confidence that you will both be amazing (ok different) parents.

and it’s bad enough i have to put up with henri’s latest penchant for names that start with Z (Zerg, Zoe, Zork, Zeke)so there is no way i would ever put my child’s name up for sale on Ebay.
My dad wanted to call me Zerubbabel … Good bible name. Fortunately for me, my Mom over-ruled, but hey, it could work …
Oh come on Cara, not even for a cool million? If my parents did that and put the money away for me so I could have it when I turned 18 or something, i’d be happy with whatever name….
I think Jeffina (for a girl) and of course Jeff for a boy sounds good. If I win millions in the lottery in the next few months I’ll consider buying your naming rights. Remember $$ talks!
I am SO thrilled with the news…mind you I haven’t told a soul yet as am sure Cara wants to tell people herself while she’s over here….(she told me on the phone this morning before I read your blog)…You will make an awesome Dad Henri..Bob & I both send our CONGRATULATIONS to you both and although we miss you over this way…am so glad you are enjoying your stay in Corsica.
